What if every time you looked at the clock, it could remind you of God’s Word?
A number of years ago, when I first began memorizing Scripture, something unexpected started happening.
Every once in a while, I would glance at the clock and see 2:20, 10:31, or 10:10.
Those times immediately brought Scripture to mind.
2:20 — Galatians 2:20:
“I am crucified with Christ, nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me…”
10:10 — John 10:10:
Jesus reminds us that the devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy—but He came that we might have life, and have it more abundantly.
As my knowledge of Scripture continued to grow and I memorized more and more Bible verses, something beautiful began to happen: the clock itself became a reminder of God's Word.
I would look at the time and think:
“What Scripture verse doe that link with?”
Eventually, I began compiling the references and that became an Excel spreadsheet with almost every minute of every hour filled with a corresponding Scripture reference!
Some of the later hours in the military-style 24-hour clock don't have references —but there is plenty of Scripture to discover throughout the day.
Check the clock.
Find the Scripture.
Read the Word.
Remember the Word.
Live the Word.
